404 Pages: Designed the Experience for When Users Are Removed From a Goal

Summary

Problem / When users were unexpectedly removed from a goal without receiving any notification, they found themselves confused and frustrated, wondering why their goal had vanished without any explanation.

Solution / I collaborated with the Project Manager and Design Lead to design role-based 404 pages. Additionally, I recommended notifying users via email to set clear expectations.

My Role

Product design / research, ideation, design iterations, user flows, high-fidelity prototyping

Content design

Process

Research / I conducted research to gather ideas for both content and design, and collaborated with the Product Manager to clarify various use cases to inform the design.

Iterations / Then I created designs and iterated based on feedback from Product Manager and Design Lead.

Final Designs

I designed the 404 pages and email notification to inform users when they've been removed from a goal. The notification includes a clear call-to-action prompting users to explore other goals or visit the Knowledge Center.

I also documented adaptive, role-based user flows—from Basic Access Users to HR/DEI Leaders.
